Uganda Cubs head coach Hamza Lutalo has released a provisional Squad of 41players to prepare for the 2021 AFCON U17 Championship.The tournament will be hosted by Morocco next month.
The squad will report to Njeru camp on 9th Tuesday, FUFA has revealed that the players will report to the camp on Tuesday at the FUFA Techinical Centre in Njeru.
Two foreign based players have been added onto the squad that qualified for the tournament afterwinning the CECAFA region.
These are Nsambu Lloyd Tendo son of former legislator and FIFA international agent Alintuma Nsambu. He is currently playing for FC Metz in France. The other is Basil Tenywa Tuma of Eton College in the United Kingdom.
Cubs reached this stage after winning the CECAFA U17 Championship held in Rwanda last year to return to the Continent for another straight edition.
Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Tanzania, South Africa, Zambia and hosts Morocco are some of the countries to take part at this year’s Championship.
This, will be the first edition in Africa U-17 Cup of Nations to have expanded to 12 teams instead of eight.
