Uganda Police FC and Wakiso giants FC played out to a goal-less statement in the StarTimes Uganda Premier league game played at the MTN Omondi Stadium,  Lugogo.

The cops got the first attempt of the game when Wakiso giants gave a freekick just outside the box but Tom Mawejje’s effort  was easily caught by Emukule Derrick.

Five minutes afterwards, the cops had a wonderful to take the lead after Frank Tumwesigye Zaga brilliantly found Mubarak Nsubuga in the 6-yard box but the latter’s effort was too weak for Emukule

In the 9th minutes, the visitor then got a chance to go ahead after a long ball from  found Yasin Mugume upfront, with just a defender to beat, and he did so with ease to create chances for himself ahead of Tom Ikara but Mugume chipped the ball over the bar.

Like the first cops chance, Nsubuga was again found on Police right but the shirt 28 fáiled to connect well with the ball in the 20th minute.

In the 27th minute, the game witnessed it’s first yellow card when  Mawejje was fouled out the box by the Wakiso giants’ goalie leaving the referee with no choice but to put him into caution book.

And from the resulting free-kick, Emukule punched a brilliant shot from Ruben Kimera over his bar for a corner kick.

The game went into the halftime break with the scores tied at 0-0.

At the beginning of the second half, Police FC head coach Abdullah Mubiru bought on Yusuf Ssozi and Herman Wasswa for Tonny Mawejje and Mubarak Nsubuga respectively while, Wakiso giant bought on Karim Ndugwa for Joshua Lubwama.

The first goalscoring chance of the second half fell to Wakiso giant in the 64th minute when substitute Karim Ndugwa notched on a fantastic ball into the net but Tom Ikara made a last-minute wonderful save to deny the visitors.

With three minutes to the death of the game, Hamis Muwonge had a chance to steal the win for the purple sharks but Ikara made a sublime save to ensure the game ended with points shared.

Police will be on the road to face MYDA on Matchday two while Wakiso Giants welcome Kyetume.
