Andrew Mwenda blasts Bobi Wine and Kizza Besigye

Andrew Mwenda has once again come out to say that the opposition group led by National Unity Party former presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine is incapable of taking over power from Museveni.

Mwenda sentiments comes barely few days when the veteran journalist urged the National Unity Party head to accept defeat in the recently concluded polls so that he gets ample time to go back to the drawing board ahead of 2026. His remarks followed the Kyagulanyi’s petition after the declaration of the presidential results to change Museveni’s Victory in the January 14 polls.

“Bobi wine’s hostile people power-uganda National Unity Party groups are empty headed in reasoning and lack the capacity to take over from Museveni,” says Mwenda.

According to Mwenda, the opposition has invented non-existent problems for the country through their manifestos where they promise to do things government has already done or things government cannot simply afford to do because of its resources constraints. Mwenda adds that Kyagulanyi’s group are anti statistics, anti facts, anti truths, anti reason and anti intellectual, infact worse than Donald Trump activists.

Mwenda said that it is not true that Uganda has lacked change but has always lacked qualitative change where he believes that Kyagulanyi and his group cannot bring about the qualitative change that Ugandans desire but rather will be a hostile group that will come to power to destroy the good that the National Resistance Movement government has done.

“some Ugandan intellectuals and our development partners make wrong and even dangerous assumptions regarding our politics. First they assume that the mainstream opposition led previously by Dr Kizza Besigye and now by Bobi wine is a democratic alternative to Museveni. Second, that the Museveni’s government has been such a total failure that any change from it is good and desirable for Uganda. Neither these assumptions has much merit,” he adds.
