Bad News For Uganda In The Latest FIFA Rankings

The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and the CAF Africa Cup of Nstions 2022 qualifiers played since the last edition in February this year, there has been quite alot of movement in April’s global ranking.

The FIFA World Rankings were released yesterday on April 7,2021.

The order of the top six has not changed,with Belgium still dominating ahead of France and Brazil.

The seventh place is now filled by Italy who climbed three places to cement this position.

Denmark jumped   two places and and is now 10th.This is because they won their opening three qualifying games for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and make a return to the top 10 in the world.

However, the biggest mover this month is Guinea- Bissau who climbed eleven places to 108, with Namibia almost matching them with a jump of ten places to 111.

Uganda is now 84th after missing a ticket to the forthcoming AFCON in Cameroon.

Uganda made a goalless draw with Burkina Faso at home and lost of 1-0 to Malawi in Blantyre.

Malawi is now 115th after climbing eight places, Ethiopia moved six places to 140.

Uganda’s opponents in the forth coming World Cup qualifiers, Kenya moved two places to 102, Rwanda climbed four places to 129 while Mali dropped three places to 57th.

Only two pairs of teams are tied in the latest rankings: Cameroon and Bosnia and Herzegovina in 55th place , and Cape Verde and United Arab Emirates joint 73rd.

The next FIFA/Coca-Cola World Rankings will be published on May 27th,2021.
