National Unity Platform (NUP) party headquarter is currently under tight security as a chopper belonging to Ugandan Police has been captured on cameras hovering around the party’s premises in Kamwokya as the party leader Robert Kyagulanyi table Declaration Forms from the Jan 2021 General Elections.
Source from the inner circle concerning this matter claim that the Police in Uganda have heard that the NUP party supporters have planned to cause chaos across the country today (Tuesday) in what they called barring President Museveni’s inauguration scheduled for May this year.
In a letter that was seen by Opera News, dated March 8th, Ugandan police in a statement, directed the Commanders to be on a standby mode and make deployments across the blackspots. The department also directed that the curfews and Covid-19 guidelines should be in place nationwide.
However, the NUP party, led by Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has not made any comment about the issue only that the supporters allied to the party, and other leaders of the party have assembled on the party’s headquarter where they are tabling the DR forms from the Jan 14th elections which they alleged that were marred with irregularities.
In the recently concluded elections, Robert Kyagulanyi came second with 3.6 million votes while Museveni took the lead with 6 million votes.
