President for Uganda Yoweri kaguta Museveni won the past presidential elections with a big margin. He garnered 58% of the total votes cast while his closest competitor Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine gannered 34% of the total votes cast. Museveni, 76, is on his sixth term as the president of Uganda. His won was orchestrated by mass killing , people locked in cells and others restrained at their homes.
Museveni suffers a huge a huge blow in this administration. Foreign donors have withdrawn from his aid. Donors equip Ugandans with weapons. These weapons are used by the police to torture Ugandans and in a more positive way guard the republic against external attacks.
President museveni received few congratulation messages from Uganda and across the world. This shows that museveni’s tenure is becoming unpopular and him being comical he termed himself as “special dictator”. Why special dictator? Because Ugandans elect him as their president. Credibility of the elections was not guaranteed because the key opposition leader was highly humiliated and locked at his . Bobi Wine was not allowed to get outside his home for more than 11days after the elections that were conducted early January this year.
Bobi Wine has filed an appeal at the Uganda high court that seeks to nullify the elections. If the judgement are in Bobi’s favour, uganda will use the same path like Kenya back 2017. Uganda will embark on a fresh presidential elections.
Following the force used by Uganda security personnel, foreign have threatened to impose the following; there will be imposition of visa restrictions for Ugandans found undermining democratic process and election violence, no financial support to support education, millitary, agricultural sector and anti-retroviral vaccine for HIV positive patients from Uganda. This slams museveni in this sixth term and needs to take action to reinstate the relationship.
