Bobi Wine on Residents that were affected by fire outbreak

Today NUP yet again visited our people in Kamwokya whose houses were burnt down by a fire outbreak last week. The team was led by Acting President Hon. John-Baptist Nambeshe and the leader of our team in Parliament Hon. Mathias Mpuuga, as well as our Secretariat leadership team.

Aside from checking on our people and comforting them in this tough period, they delivered food and other household items to the affected residents. Our Parliamentary team also pledged to support our people with iron sheets which will help them roof the structures they have quickly put in place to save their land from being grabbed, and of course to enable them have a roof over their heads.

It was very unfortunate to learn that ever since fire razed down homes of over 200 people, not even a single government official has stepped there to offer them support, as they have neglected our people in so many other areas of the country.

I am very grateful to NUP leaders for continuing to stand with the ordinary citizens of Uganda in this period of great trial.
