Bobi Wine Takes On Museveni Yet Again

Firebrand Ugandan pop-star musician cum-Opposition politician Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine has yet again slammed President Yoweri Museveni’s administration on what he termed as rampant killing of innocent Ugandans.

“In Uganda, the state has killed so many people in the name of enforcing Covid-19 related restrictions! The latest victim according to eyewitnesses was a 3rd year student of Makerere, Emmanuel Tegu killed by lDU. We the people can and must stop this naked brutality,” Bobi Wine tweeted.

He also mentioned one Evelyn Namulondo, a fruit vendor who he said was shot by police on 13th May and died on 15th May.

“Charles Sanga, 63 year old, violently attacked by soldiers and police officers on the orders of the RDC. Alfred Mwanga, 46 year old, shot dead by LDU on May 10th in Kween district,” said Bobi Wine.

He also said that Vincent Serungi was shot dead on March 31st in Wakiso while Margaret Nanyunga, an 80 year old woman was murdered by LDUs on 1st April, in Kyengera. Wilber Kawono, a boda boda rider shot dead by policemen in Budaka district on April 18th,” Bobi Wine said.

The People Power Movement leader also claimed that Eric Mutasiga a headteacher was shot by police in Mukono on May 13th while Benon Nsimenta a lay reader and father of eight was shot dead by a soldier on June 24th in Kasese.

“Francis Ogwang Munu, 65 year old was killed by LDU on 27th June in Oyam district. The list goes on and on…..,” said Mr Kyagulanyi.

President Museveni is seeking a sixth term in office at a time that the East African country has confirmed 953 Covid-19 positive cases as at July 5.
