Kawempe North Member of Parliament Muhammed Segirinya together with the Makindye West colleague Allan Sewanyana were summoned by police over the Masaka killings.
Segirinya and Sewanyana were summoned to record statements in line with the serial murders that have claimed 30 lives in the greater Masaka region.
They were detained at Masaka central police station after they had responded to summons that required them to record statements about their alleged involvement in murders.
These were eventually arraigned before Charles Yeistese, the Masaka Chief Magistrate who remanded them to prison until investigations are complete such that they face prosecution.
National Unity Platform President Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu commonly known by his stage name Bobi Wine yesterday together with other Nup members paid a visit to their friends who have been in prison for 8months now.
For 8 months now, NUP MPs Hon. Allan Ssewanyana and Hon. Ssegirinya Muhammad have been in jail over trumped up charges. The trial is yet to start! Yesterday I checked on them. With great heaviness, they told me the numerous challenges. Such a tragedy to live under military rule! pic.twitter.com/4992YPfRe0
