The National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate Bobi Wine is still trying to organize his legal team to secure the release of his campaign team members who were detained by the Uganda military on Wednesday 30th 2020 during his campaign trail at Kalangala District.
Comrades Nubian Li, Eddie Mutwe & over 18 others are being held in a military barracks. Lawyers, family & doctors have been denied access to them. The comrades at Masaka Police (over 90) were badly beaten last night. The more they become desperate, the more they become reckless. pic.twitter.com/doTCjTVYWH

However, the Uganda Police Force (UPF) through the information shared on their various verified social media platforms maintained that the over 90 NUP campaign team members who were arrested on Wednesday 30th 2020 are criminals.
Through its spokes person Fred Enanga, the Uganda Police Force stated that the over 90 NUP members arrested have been working falsely as a parallel but illegal government who have been actively involved in acts of intimidation and lawlessness a cross different parts of Uganda.
“The operations was therefore aimed at keeping all Ugandans safe and to help eliminate all continuous acts of impunity, lawlessness and political violence during the ongoing campaigns and electoral events,” Police Spokes person Fred Enanga.
Bobi Wine this morning took to his social media platforms to convey his worries on how the police and the military are treating his campaign team members under their custody.
“I can confirm that the comrades Nubian Li, Eddie Mutwe and about 18 others are being held incommunicado in a military baracks in Masaka,” Bobi Wine stated in a post he shared on his verified facebook page.
Bobi Wine stated that the members have been denied access to their lawyers and the family members which he said is a total breach of the constitution.
