Pallisa district officials are on the run over allegedly misappropriated public funds. This happened as one of the officials handed himself over to the police during an operation dubbed “clean Pallisa” which had been launched on September 15 2022.

This operation was headed by Pallisa RDC Majid Dhikusoka together with members of the district security committee after realizing an audit report of shs 139,880,000 was allegedly misappropriated by some senior accountants.

The RDC further stated that Nicholas Opurusi the principal Kamuge town council allegedly misappropriated Shs 29.2m while Gogonyo the sub county senior assistant accountant David Malinga Shs 29.2m.

Most of these funds were found being mismanaged during the monitoring of government programs.

The chief administrative officer further more wrote letters to the affected culprits which they secretly replied on committing to refund the money within a period of 14 days.
