Emmanuel Okwi Tests Positive For Covid19

Cranes Striker Emmanuel Okwi has tested positive for Covid19, it has been confirmed.

Al-Ittihad has revealed the developments:The player had undergone the test in preparation for returning to Egypt and joining the team’s training sessions and matches, but the positive result compelled him to postponed his flight.

Uganda’s  talisman will miss Al-Ittihad encounter with Pyramids FC  today  as the 2020/21 Egyptian Premier League gets underway.

“Results of the Corona virus detection test conducted by Ugandan professional player Emmanuel Okwi of Al Ittihad Club of Alexandria before leaving his country showed that the player was infected and tested positive.

The player is isolated and is following the treatment protocol, and he is going to undergo a new swab after a few days in order to check his health.

Okwi had left Egypt this year after the spread of Coronavirus but remained stuck in Uganda due to the suspension of air traffic for a large period due to the Corona crisis, as well as the lack of direct flights from Uganda to Egypt.

In October, the striker returned to Egypt.

He is the second Uganda Cranes striker to test positive in Egypt after Derrick Nsibambi returned a positive test in July with Smouha
