Wales youthful star Charlie Savage is following the footsteps of his Robbie Savage by signing his first professional contract with Manchester United.
Charlie Savage is hoping to fare better than his father at Manchester United by breaking into the first team and the 17year Midfielder has promised to work hard in order to impress United’s boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
His father Robbie Savage also began his football career at Manchester United between 1991-1993 and was part of Sir Alex Ferguson’s Class Of 1992 but failed to make a senior appearance for the Red Devils while his fellow academy graduates Ryan Giggs, David Beckham, Paul Scholes amongst others went on to flourish and helped the Club to win several trophies.
In 1994 ,Robbie Savage Joined Crewe Alexandra, later Leicester City, Birmingham City, Blackburn Rovers were he became a legend, Derby County and Stockport Town where he hanged his boots in 2019.
Charlie Savage reveals the news on Twitter, that “am delighted to have signed my first profession contract at Manchester United. I would like thank all of my friends, family and everyone for all their support.”
Savage Jnr said he looked up to midfielder Scott McTominay after successfully breaking through as an academy graduate as well as Marcus Rashford and Brandon Williams.
He says that his father is not putting pressure on him to succeed, and even says that he is better in front of goal than his dad.
Charlie Savage joined Manchester United’s academy in july 2019.The central midfielder has been rewarded with a senior contract after starring for the Under -18s this season, scoring twice and providing five assists in 17 games.
Charlie adds that Marcus Rashford, McTominay and Brandon Williams inspire him and his friends because they improve and move forward.
The young star has also played for Wales U-17 National taem and hopes to be alegend like Ryan Giggs amongst others.
