Oliver Nakakande who was crowned Miss Uganda in 2019-2020 but continued serving because the beauty pageant couldn’t happen last year due to Covid has been de-crowned.
According to Kezzi Entertainment, the Miss World exclusive license holder, they have announced that because Oliver Nakakande is away and continuing to pursue her studies consequently, she is unable to execute the duties of the Office of Miss Uganda.
With this, they have officially announced Miss Elizabeth Bagaya who was the first runner-up as the interim Miss Uganda 2020/21 to carry on with the duties of the office of Miss Uganda effective immediately until a new Miss Uganda is crowned later this year.
𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 to my sister @elizabeth__bagaya The Interim Miss Uganda 2021.
With great honor, I’m proud to be passing on the torch to an intelligent, smart and ambitious beauty who I strongly believe will hold all the core values and ethos of Beauty with a Purpose.
My reign was a roller coaster which I enjoyed to the fullest and am thankful to the Miss Uganda Foundation Miss World and all Partners that push the envelope of Beauty with a Purpose.
The Honor of serving my Country Uganda- the Pearl of Africa as an Ambassador and a major force championing Beauty with A Purpose came with alot of life changing platforms which I embraced with passion, learnt so much, met amazing People that all had passion to changing the world.
I could write a whole book about the entire experience but to sum it all up, It was such an experience that every young lady should have at some point in life.
As the World got to a standstill due to the Covid19 pandemic, I’m grateful to God for the strength I earned that saw me reign for almost 2 years. (2019-2021)
And as I continue to pursue my education, I strongly believe the crown is in safe hands and the Beauty with a Purpose Projects will continue to run and and so will the sisterhood.
As we all wait to crown the next miss Uganda in October later this year, I hope the interim Miss Uganda 2021 – @elizabeth__bagaya enjoys her reign, light the passion and share the dream with the Nation!
I Will always forever continue to light more candles everywhere I go with the great leadership skills the foundation instilled in me.
Once again, am beyond grateful to the MISS Uganda Foundation and Mama MISS. B Nanyonjo Brendafor this life changing initiative.
Love and Light. ❤️
