Mukwala replaces Yunus Ssentamu at Njeru Camp for preparations ahead of CECAFA Challenge Cup Tournament.

Steven Mukwala Dese has replaced absent-Yunus Ssentamu in the Uganda National team’s 26-man squad for the 2021 CECAFA senior Challenge Cup.

The Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club (URA FC) prolific striker Mukwala, who was among those left out in the provisional squad, has now been surprisingly called by the Head Coach, Moley Byekwaso ahead of the upcoming tournament scheduled to take place in Baaba Dahir city, Ethiopia.

Vipers SC and U-20 former forward expected to spice up the team’s striking line in absence of Yunus Ssentamu who did not turn up for Camp training sessions following their shift to the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru from the initital Paradise Camp, Kisaasi.

The 21-year-old, has been a key factor in URA FC’s stellar performance and his goals have helped put tax collectors at the 2nd position at the Uganda Premier League (UPL) table with four games remaining.

Mukwala made his Uganda Cranes debut against South Africa on June 10th in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Fremer Media has learned Mukwala was called to the Cranes team yesterday, Sunday and the message to his call was personal.
