NCS Flags Off Silverbacks for Afro Basket Qualifiers

Uganda National Basketball team, the Silverbacks has been flagged  off  today to Tunisia ahead of the qualifiers for the 2021 FIBA Afrobasket.

The National Council of Sports (NCS) funded the trip with Shs334M. The team will have a 10 day camp with the foreign bases players in Monastir, Tunisia.

The Qualifiers are scheduled for February 18th to 21st in Tunisia. Uganda is in Group E alongside Egypt, Morocco and Capeverde

The team was flagged off by the Chairman National Council  of  Sports Donald Rukare on Thursday morning.

Rukare has said that“,I congratulate FUBA for tremendously ensuring that the team is in the right shape. I assure the team of full support from the government and we are optimistic that the team will be victorious.”

National Council for Sports  General Secretary Patrick Ogwel and FUBA President Nasser Sserunjogi were also in attendance.
