President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to be sworn next week

The government of Uganda is preparing for the swearing of Yoweri Kaguta Museveni On 12th May 2021. Museveni was re-elected for the sixth time as the President of the Republic of Uganda after defeating Bobi Wine in the last general election. Museveni gathered 58.64 % of the total votes cast while his closest competitor Bobi Wine gathered 34. 83%.

Although Bobi Wine disagreed with the final results the electrical commission denied that there were no signs of the vote- weighing in the just concluded general elections.

Museveni captured power through a coup de tat in 1986. He has been in power for over 35 years now and there are no signs of him stepping down or handing power to another person in a peaceful manner.

Museveni is well known for using power to get what he wants. He claims that his type of government is democratic but in the real sense it is a dictatorship type of government
