Real Madrid: Luka Jovic tests negative for COVID-19

Real Madrid Striker Luka Jovic has tested negative for COVID-19, recovering from the virus he had picked up while on international duty with Serbia in November.

The forward has undergone more tests at Valdebebas and on Thursday he was able to rejoin his teammates in preparation for Real Madrid’s game against Sevilla on Saturday.

Jovic scored twice for Serbia during the last international break and he’ll be keen to build on that form with Madrid, for whom he has scored just twice since his arrival, with the last of those coming in February.

The player’s positive test result and subsequent isolation has seen his training slow down though, and he’ll be up against it if he is to be in good shape for the weekend.

Zinedine Zidane is waiting to find out if Sergio Ramos, Dani Carvajal and Alvaro Odriozola will be available for selection. Early signs suggest that both Ramos and Carvajal will miss the trip.

Odriozola, though, could be in line to make the squad for the first time in two months.
