National Unity Platform party leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine was arrested today at the party office in Kampala and taken to undisclosed location.
The National Unity Platform offices were later sealed off by Uganda police and managed to thwart plans by the party to serve a letter to the Chief of Defense Forces General David Muhoozi protesting arbitrary arrests of their party members.
Kyagulanyi who came a distant after incumbent Yoweri Museveni refused to accept the presidential results and has since called for peaceful protests to challenge the results.
He was arrested yesterday in Kampala when he was leading the peaceful protests and taken to his home.
Kyagulanyi withdrew a case he had filed in the Supreme Court to challenge the election declaration of Museveni as the president elect on claims that the Chief Justice who is the president of the court had shown bias.
He had demanded for the Chief Justice to recuse himself from the petition. The Chief Justice refused hence Kyagulanyi was left with no choice but to withdraw the petition.
