Government is challenged to come up with special programs on educating the public about the importance of Covid-19 vaccination so that people can embrace it.
Uganda launched the first phase of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign on March 10th and the Ministry of Health targets to vaccinate more than 21.9 million people who face the highest risk of infection such as frontline health workers, teachers, security personnel, the elderly and those with underlying medical conditions.
This advise was given by the Archbishop of Kampala and the current Chairperson of the Uganda Joint Christian Council, Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga during the scientific Ecumenical Public Way of the Cross ceremony organized by UJCC at St. Paul’s Cathedral Namirembe.
Dr. Lwanga said many Ugandans have declined to be vaccinated just because they don’t know what really is being used and for what reason.
He urged the public and security forces as they celebrate the Easter holiday to desist from all acts of violence, human rights violations among others.
Rest in Peace Man of God dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga.
