Tension As Rebecca Kadaga Election challenged in Court

Prior to the general election in Uganda early this year, there was panic and tension in the country as campaigns were ongoing. The campaigns were intensive and were marred by chaos and violence scenes. The people of Uganda got relieved when the election day finally reached as they hoped that would mark the last day of political dramas.

Months later and there are still twists and turns concerning the general election. Leader of opposition Robert Kyagulanyi famously known as Bobi Wine has been raising temperatures every now and then after he was defeated by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

As we are speaking, a new twist has raised temperatures high in Uganda after it was reported that election may be nullified. According to the Daily Monitor, about 40 MPs including Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga and some ministers are in danger of losing their seats after their opponents went to court. They are seeking the election of the 40 MPs to be nullified.

“The election of about 40 MPs including Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga and some ministers has been challenged in courts, with their opponents seeking to have their victory nullified.” Tweeted the Daily Monitor.
