The Hippos U-20, are through to Africa U-20 Cup of Nations finals

The Hippos U-20, Uganda’s side U-20 are through to the U-20 finals after winning Tunisia 4:1 in the semi finals. The under-age competition is being hosted by Mauritania.

The goal scores of the Hippos were Richard Basangwa and Derrick Kakooza who scored a hattrick

The Hippos have reached the finals of the AFCON U-20 championship on their debut appearance.

To reach the semi-finals, the Hippos managed to win Burkina Faso in penalties after extra-time where they scored 5:3 in favor of Uganda’s side.

Currently, there is 50 goals which have been scored in the competition and Uganda’s Derrick Kakooza is the current top scorer with 5 (five) goals followed by Precious Boah.

The finals will be on 6 March 2021 where Uganda will be versing Ghana who managed to win Gambia with one (1) goal scored by Boah in the 34 minute of the game.

For the third place, Gambia will go against Tunisia on 5th-March

The Hippos U-20 are now through the U-20 which will be hosted in Indonesia between  20 May and 12 June 2021
