Kyagulanyi Ssentamu who is also known as Bobi Wine has a hurdle before him as he face president Museveni In Court. Ugandans citizens went on ballot in January 14 this year.It was a highly contested election where Museveni emerged the winner and Kyagulanyi was in the second position.
According to Bobi Wine,the last general election was accompanied with election malpractice and security agents detained him in his house for more than 6 days.
After electoral commission had announced Museveni’s victory,he claimed that election were fair and transparent.To the contrary,Kyagulanyi has dismissed his claims taking the next move of petitioning him.Kyagulanyi wounds has deepened after on Thursday sitting when his lawyer said they are not ready.
Bobi lawyer said“Some of our witnesses who would have sworn in affidavits have been arrested,” Mr Medard Lubega Sseggona, Mr Kyagulanyi’s lead lawyer of the day, explained to the penal of nine Justices led by Chief Justice Alfonse Owiny-Dollo.
He added “Some of them were arrested in Mbarara. We couldn’t meet them because they had a meeting with the Deputy Inspector General of Police [Maj Gen Paul Lokech] but we shall see…”
