Uganda premier League side Vipers sports club has Completed the signing of Lawrence Tezikya from Busoga United FC.
The striker has been kept from playing for the Venoms because of paper work. But it is official that the clearance finally come through.
Tezikya has signed a three year contract for the venoms.
Tezikya joins a list of other forwards at the club including Caesar Manzoki, Dan Mzee Sserunkuma, Shaban Muhammad among others.
Tezikya says “,Its been weeks of patience and I have had enough time to settle in both mentally and physically now that the final process has been completed, l can’t wait to play for my team.”
Tezikya adds“,I made the best decision to join this great club, the environment is conducive and also, will get good competition which will improve me as a player.”
Vipers head coach Fred Kajoba believes the addition of Tezikya is vital and adds both quality and strength to his squad.
‘Tezikya’s arrival will give us many options to select from, besides we believe he will pick lessons and challenges from the old players. We are proud to have another player of immense talent like him.” said Kajoba.
Tezikya won the 2017 Copa Coca-Cola Schools cup winner with Jinja SS and finished as the leading scorer in the competition two times (2018 and 2019).
Tezikya made his senior club debut in 2018/19 season when he came off the bench in the 0-0 stalemate with Maroons at the Mighty Arena and went on to play 8 matches the following season scoring five goals.
