Ghana National team head coach Charles Okonnor released his internal Squad that is preparing for the international break fixtures in which the Black stars will face South Africa on March 25th and a few days will play Sao Tome and Principle on 28th this month in their last round of the African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Many people were shocked to see that Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey is among the players who were dropped by Okonnor.
The Ghana football governing body has cleared the air about Thomas Partey’s absence that the midfielder was left out of the Squad due to travel restrictions related to Covid-19 pandemic.
But according to United Kingdom Government health guidelines, any one from “red list” Countries including South Africa which will face Ghana ,is required to quarantine for 14 days. Therefore, this has forced the premier league Clubs to refuse to release their players for international games in those Countries.
Ghana Currently sits on top of their group will a goal difference over second placed South Africa but they are both tied on 9 points.
