Yoweri Kaguta Museveni was good leader, NUP Lewis Rubongoya

Rubongoya was formerly a great supporter and the National Resistance Movement campaigner before joining NUP Party. He resigned from his well-paying jobs to be able to openly associate with People Power, that later turned to NUP. He has been on its leadership right from the start.

“When I supported the NRM, I was sincere in my support for them. I was not doing it out of compulsion,” said Rubongoya during an interview on a local TV.

Rubongoya however revealed that the more he got exposed to several realities in the political arena, he lost admiration for Museveni.

“My turning point to join the opposition was when he influenced parliament to lift the age limit. I felt betrayed because he had make it clear that after clocking 75 years, he was not capable of leading Uganda,” said Rubongoya.
